ROLE OUTLINE AND EXPECTATIONS
Midweight Designers are focused on creative excellence, knowledge and expertise in all phases of the design process. They have strong conceptual, creative and communication skills. They are integral to the hands-on creation of creative through expert craft as well as informing and defining the creative outcome of projects through a thoughtful approach.
This is an exciting opportunity to help grow Made Thought’s digital offering and be part of the conversation from the beginning. Working with, and reporting to the Senior Digital Designer, this role will be responsible for inspiring and creating new digital capabilities within Made Thought’s design sensibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
— Support interface creation, design and delivery as part of the design team and alongside third party developers
— Collaborate with the design team to find smart solutions to complex problems
— Be responsible for assigned projects and tasks, maintaining high standards of creativity and consistency
— Apply a rigorous eye for detail and appreciation for type, layout and pixel-perfect delivery
— Use experience and passion to demonstrate intelligent, thought-provoking and innovative creative solutions, establishing a strong conceptual and creative point of view.
— Be able to think holistically about the creative solutions, not just the visual outcome and have strong communicative skills in portraying this thought process to the rest of the team.
— Have the ability to take projects from concept through to launchSKILLS & EXPERIENCE
— Strong understanding of UX and UI practices and user centred design, including user stories, user flows and wireframing.
— Experience in eCommerce websites
— Experience in animated prototypes to support design ideas in motion
— Basic knowledge of front-end development and modern web technologies and tools
— Experience of working in close collaboration with development teams
— Basic knowledge about 3D data (not essential but would be preferred)
— Content Art Direction and Production knowledge beneficial but not essential
— Self-motivated, positive under pressure an, with keen attention to detail and a strong personal drive to deliver high quality work
— Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
EXPERTISE
— Sketch
— Figma
— Invision
— Principle / ProtoPie or other protoyping tool (scroll through, UI animations)
— Keynote
— Excellent use of Adobe Creative Suite
— Basic knowledge After Effects (beneficial but not essential)
— Notion (preferable for work organisation, again not essential)
— Building presentation documents
— Presentation skills
— Excellent written and verbal communication skills
